Let me start with a reminder of sorts to ensure that there are no misunderstandings…
I'm not an expert.
There are indeed things that I consider myself an expert on but Magic is admittedly not one of them. Instead, I simply really enjoy the game, the art and lore, the mechanics and tactics, and the way its been a new bonding tool for my oldest and myself of late.
For evidence to support my lack of expertise, I'll start by pointing you to a reply I received from the Strong Museum of Play recently, as a follow up to entry #2 of this series.
Now I'll point out that, while I appreciate the assumption Mr. Ricketts had here in regards to the corners, I actually did not know that. I'm always learning and did enjoy that bit of knowledge cheese that was served up.
Yum…cheese.
So, for anyone that stops by my corner where I rant and ramble a bit about this beautiful game, know that I never mean to pretend to be above others in info so if I fuck up let me know.
A second big intro point is that this issue is a bit different than expected due to life events. The ai related stuff will be coming soon for those that care.
Moving along, the folks at Wizards that I know are universally loved have botched again. The entire Machine line, especially the dlc style aftermath stuff that just leaked, has been sad to see. The death of near mint being a major talking point for players in North America is perhaps the biggest issue though I know supporters that are far more involved in the reading of the cannon are passed greatly, too.
You can surely call this situation a reckless handling of the property.
In related news, an employee at a printing company tried to sell a bunch of rares theu had stolen off the line at a LGS in Texas but was busted in the process. It makes you wonder how often more intelligent staff do shit like this and if it flows into other games because some of these boosters are literal trash.
Maybe that kid I knew in elementary really did get some of his rares from a family member in the game? Nah. You're still a fucking liar, Rian.
Last, for now because I'm moving and short on time, I'd like to thank player Naturelover on Arena. I had a very long, soap opera grind with you recently and it was my favorite game so far as a player. This white knuckle battle saw me hanging on by a finger tip, turn after turn, before my black/white overcame for the big comeback. You were an awesome opponent!
Be kind to yourself and others and thank you for reading!
